We had already had one contract fall over prior to this and were getting very tired of the whole sale process after several months on the market. Mike brought us three offers within two weeks, a multi offer situation, and our house was unconditionally sold for well over the asking price. We highly recommend Mikes services to anyone in the market to sell their house, his communication was excellent and we always knew every step of the way exactly what was happening. We live in the South Island so geographically a long distance from Mikes Auckland location, however the process with todays technology was so simple he could have been in the same town.

We chose Mike instead of a mainstream agent because his fees were realistic. Mike and Catherine did all the communications with the prospective buyers (over 130 groups) on our behalf and he was also a brilliant auctioneer on the day.  

 Mike’s negotiation skills came to our rescue when the top bidder changed her mind after signing an unconditional contract. Mike managed to negotiate a payment from her that released her from the contract, negotiated a 2nd unconditional contract with the 2nd highest bidder and it all turned out fine. We saw Mike Van Wagoner auction a property 4 or 5 months ago and were so impressed with his style and professionalism that when we recently decided to sell our home he was our only choice for auctioneer. With a newborn baby in the house we also didn’t have the time, skills or energy to follow up the enquiries or open home leads so engaged Emphasis Real Estate to handle the negotiations for us and it is probably the best money we ever spent. For a fraction of what a typical agent would charge the service, professionalism and commitment we got from Mike & Catherine was second to none. We were kept informed the whole way through the sales, auction and post auction negotiating process, and they were always available by phone or email if we had any queries. With the current market uncertainty seeing less homes sell at auction the skills of a great negotiator become even more critical, and there is no way we would have achieved the sale price we did without Mike & Catherine in the job. I think you’d struggle to find another agent more committed to achieving you a better result than Mike, and the discount in fee certainly doesn’t lead to any discount in service.
